Then, there is the piazza, a square generally considered one the most beautiful in Dalmatia, dominated by St. Stephen's Cathedral, surrounded by the palaces of Groda and by the cascading stone-built houses of Burag.

Our advice to you is to definitely visit the fortress Fortica (Spanjola), the cathedral of Hvar, the theatre of Hvar (established in 1612) with the arsenal, and the Franciscan monastery. The Pakleni Islands are a stunning chain of wooded isles that sit just off Hvar town. Pakleni Islands literally translates to Hell Islands, but are nothing like hell, trust us.
